At one time, many years ago...
I bought conventional eggs..
When I switch to pastured, I was FLOORED at the difference upon cracking open the first brown shell..
The DEEP Golden yolk, and thick egg white, was far from the pale yellow-grey yolk and runny egg white I was used to...
And the TASTE was unlike anything I imagined.
What's the Difference?!
Now, if you are thinking of switching, there's a few things you should know.
You may see many terms on egg cartons, that are seemingly similar, but VERY different...
Conventional: Classic white egg. All about profit and turnover. Factory raised, likely in small cages with no room to move. Most have a high level of antibiotics and hormones to prevent illness and boost growth rates.
Cage Free: Still can be indoors, with cramped living areas... Think of large, multilevel barns. Thousands of un-caged birds in close confinement. Still given antibiotics and hormones.
Free Range: Similar to cage free, but with limited access to outdoors.
Organic: mostly refers to the type of food they are fed.... Must be free of fertilizers, pesticides, hormones, and GMO's.
Pastured/ Pasture Raised: Raised on green pasture, and are allowed to roam free, and eat a biologically appropriate omnivorous diet of bugs, fresh flowers, plants, and best of all.. SUNSHINE!
Why Does it Matter?!
Compared to conventional, pastured eggs generally have:
1⁄3 less cholesterol
1⁄4 less saturated fat 2⁄3 more vitamin A
2 times more omega-3 fatty acids 3 times more vitamin E
4–6 times more vitamin D 7 times more beta carotene
*Since dogs and cats MUST get their vitamin D requirements from dietary sources... This is extremely important to consider. They cannot synthesize thwir own, like we can.
Now, I'm sure you've seen the documentaries, news headlines and opions of others that eating meat and eggs is bad for the planet..
But in typical HTP fashion... What if we switch our mindset to flip the narrative and look at things from a different perspective...?
Maybe the issue isn't WHAT we eat... It's how the food is produced.
Each individual cell on this planet holds a vibrational energy... When considering farmed vs wild caught fish.. Think of the energy each one holds... One confined, fed GMO grains, additives, etc. Stressed.
The other free will, natural diet, happy and vibrant. That energy carries to its consumer.
Now consider the destruction to the earth from mass factory farming. Eating meat isn't ruining the planet... Its the supply and demand practices that are by big companies.
Commercial vs sustainable agriculture.
When the above is considered, how is it assumed that growing 'food' products (such as 'meat') in a laboratory is going to be healthier?! Where is the nutrition coming from?
Too bad all the farms/ land are being bought out by big Gov and 'we' are being continually brainwashed to think lab grown 'meat' is healthier.
How Can We Do Better?!
Now, can we all agree how much an appropriate diet and lifestyle impacts the overall health of an animal?!
Pasturebird is an AMAZING product that brings sustainable agriculture practices front and center. You have to see it to believe it!
This is what our world needs.
Instead of packing 60k chickens into a barn with artificial lighting, forcing them to walk through millions of pounds of their own shit, feeding them corn every day, with zero natural sunlight, fresh grass, or even fresh air.... All the while pumping them full of vaccines and antibiotics to 'keep them healthy...'
Why don't we learn how to provide BETTER?!
More care for the animal.
More care for our planet.
More care for the consumers.
It all begins at the source.
